Polish Activist Arrested in West Bank

image 4463 On the night of Monday to Tuesday the Israeli army attacked the village of Bilin in the occupied West Bank of the Jordan River [info on the invasion (pl)]. During a search, a Polish activist, an editor of the Viva Palestyna web site and an activist in the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) for many years, was arrested. She was imprisoned in Tel Aviv and probably in a few days will be deported to Poland (presently she's being held in Ramallah).

Ania has dedicated herself deeply in solidarity with the Palestinian people, she wanted to live in the West Bank as a permanent resident, in order to be able to help Palestinians in the fight with the daily difficulties of occupation. For this reason, if she will have to return to Europe, she won't have something to return to. This person who wanted to dedicate the rest of her life to help others now needs our help.

Update:
At the moment it looks like the problem of getting Ania's personal effects to her before deportation has been solved. This doesn't change the fact that after returning to Europe she'll find herself in a difficult situation. If you can help ease her return to life in Europe, please write to saahib@plusnet.pl, or GG: 2300233
